Today is National Day of Giving

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is National Day of Giving. National Giving Day encourages others to give back. In 2012, 92nd Street Y in New York City created National Day of Giving to bring focus to the charitable season in the commercialized time of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. After the day was created, social media created the hashtag #GivingTuesday to harness giving back around the world and throughout the year. There are several ways to observe the holiday and a couple include donating food to local food banks, create care packages for nursing homes, and sending toys to children in hospitals. One way I am going to observe the holiday is by creating holiday baskets with baked goods and hot cocoa mix and Russian refresher in mason jars to give to others.
